We are hiring for a Lead Mechanical Technician to join our Third Shift team!

Xylem is hiring! As the Lead Technician on Third shift (Sunday to Thursday, 9:30 pm to 6:30am - 2:30pm). As a member of the Production Team, you will be assembling, disassembling, hydrostatic testing and performance testing of pumps. Receiving and stocking inventory, pulling orders for both pump and parts orders, part identification, assembling parts orders, prepping and painting orders and final packaging for shipment. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Pump and parts order assembly
  • \n
  • Pump disassembly and repair
  • \n
  • Pump hydrostatic and performance testing
  • \n
  • Receiving and stocking inventory
  • \n
  • Prepping and painting of pump and parts orders
  • \n
  • Packaging and shipment of pump and parts orders
  • \n
  • Adhere to company safety practices and processes
  • \n

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
    \n
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • \n
  • 5+ years of experience as a pump technician or in a similar role
  • \n
  • Experience with assembling and disassembling pumps or other rotating equipment, including tearing them down according to standard procedure
  • \n
  • Experience leading a team
  • \n
  • Fork-Lift/Crane experience preferred
  • \n
  • Mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills and enjoys a variety of work / multi-tasking
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • \n

Physical Demands:
    \n
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • \n
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull and move about the facility
  • \n
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry heavy loads, perform manual labor.
  • \n
  • Ability to work in areas involving heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water.
  • \n
  • Work with material handling equipment, hand tools, and daily exposure to shop elements
  • \n
  • Walk or stand at least 8+ hours per day
  • \n
  • Ability to work overtime occasionally
  • \n

Day in the Life: regularly required to stand, reach, bend, squat, push, pull and move about the facility. Work with material handling equipment, hand tools (saws, drills, hammers), and daily exposure to shop elements. Walk or stand at least 8+ hours per day. The estimated pay range for this position is $28/hr. to $32/hr. with a 15% shift differential for 3rd shift. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
