Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is hiring an International Logistics Specialist in Wichita, KS or Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate all international logistics activities for our Mass Transfer and Combustion businesses. Your responsibility includes managing shipments, working closely with carriers and customs brokers, and ensuring full compliance with global trade regulations. Your efforts will be pivotal in maintaining timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while optimizing logistics processes.

Our Team

You will be part of a dynamic logistics and supply chain team that collaborates across procurement, sales, warehouse, and finance departments. This cross-functional team is dedicated to improving international shipping operations, driving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with international trade laws and company policies.

What You Will Do

  • Create, review, and manage international shipping documentation such as Bill of Lading (BL), Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Commercial Invoices (CI), Packing Lists (PL), and customs declarations including Importer Security Filing (ISF) and Automated Export System (AES).
  • Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound international shipments to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery across multiple transportation modes.
  • Manage relationships and performance of logistics service providers and freight forwarders, identifying systemic operational issues and implementing corrective actions to improve service quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, warehouse, and finance teams to develop and optimize inter- and intra-company international logistics processes, driving waste reduction and process efficiency improvements.
  • Define, track, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations to internal and external stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex international logistics challenges, proactively monitor shipment statuses, resolve delays, and manage shipment exceptions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations, international trade laws, customs requirements, and internal policies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in international logistics and international trade with working knowledge of import/export regulations.
  • Experience managing customs brokers and third-party trade-related service providers.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
  • Proficient in logistics software, ERP systems, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and MS Office applications.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 5 years or more of experience in international logistics and international trade with working knowledge of import/export regulations.
  • Experience working in or with Mass Transfer and Combustion business sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and optimize inter- and intra-company logistics processes.
  • Experience defining and tracking logistics KPIs and using data for continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills capable of working across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure.
