HR Assistant

Temp/Temp-to-Hire

Pasadena, CA


$22/hr-$25/hr (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire paperwork, processing background checks, and ensuring completion of required documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee records, personnel files, HR databases, and HRIS systems.
  • Help administer employee benefits, enrollments, changes, and general benefits inquiries.
  • Prepare HR documents such as offer letters, employment verifications, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Support HR compliance by ensuring adherence to company policies, labor laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with processing changes in payroll, timekeeping updates, and employee status changes as needed.
  • Respond to general HR-related questions from employees and managers and direct inquiries to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, trainings, meetings, and HR events.
  • Conduct filing, scanning, data entry, and other administrative tasks to support HR operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee information and HR matters.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in HR, administrative support, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic HR practices, labor laws, and HR compliance standards.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
