Spruce Mountain School District - RSU #73 Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Food Service Director The Food Service Director will direct the full food service program including purchasing, financial services, reporting and compliance with all Federal and State regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma and at least 5 years’ similar experience in food service Strong computer skills, ability to multi-task Prepare student lunch menus which meet the USDA balance lunch program requirements for nutrition Strong knowledge of finance to coordinate the budget for meal program and create a program that is as close to self-sufficient as possible Must be ServeSafe Certified Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) from the Maine Department of Education Responsibilities Supervise, coordinate and direct the work duties of all food service personnel Coordinate coverage when absences occur Hire personnel as needed and directed by Superintendent Provide training to the Food Service Personnel in regards to nutrition, sanitation, food preparation procedures, etc. Facilitate the financial work for the program including recommendations for budget development Facilitate the processing and monetary collection of all student invoices in regard to the food service program Prepare monthly menus to comply with Federal and State nutrition guidelines Supervise procurement of commodity food items Collect and process applications for Free and Reduce Meals program Maintain confidential records on students who qualify for subsidized meals Complete mandated verification and verification reports Prepare and submit annual program application paperwork using the State data system Ensure the district’s program complies with local, State, and Federal agency requirements including nutrition, food preparation, sanitation, and financial management Prepare monthly record updates with regard to finances for the food service program as required by the State for funding Pursue grants and other funding such as the Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Grant Make recommendations for changes and / or improvements to the program to the Superintendent SALARY: Commensurate with experience All interested candidates must submit an application, letter of intent, resume, any certifications, and three letters of reference to: Superintendent of Schools Office Attn: Laura White, Administrative Assistant 9 Cedar Street, Livermore Falls, ME 04254 Email: lwhite@rsu73.com Closing date: when suitable candidate is found
