We understand the needs of our customers. Local Partner, Global Value. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role as an EDM Operator at Byrne Tool + Design in Rockford, MI. The EDM Operator will be responsible for operating electrical discharge machines to shape and fabricate metal parts, ensuring quality standards are met. Daily tasks include setting up machines, monitoring the EDM process and adjusting as needed, maintaining detailed records for machines and procedures and inspecting finished products. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements Responsible for programming, setting up and operating multiple Sinker EDM machines Dimensionally check electrodes to ensure they are correct to CAD using height gauge and calipers Use CAM models to determine machine placement Properly use hoists and precision fixtures Determine specifications or procedures for tooling set-up, machine operation, work piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences, using instructions, and machine knowledge Load electrodes into machine or automatic tool change with correct orientation Adjust EDM program to electrode limitations Communicate with project leader, designers and management for specific project requirements including EDM scheduling, and to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors Follow procedures written in the Quality Policy Manual Responsible for machining to customer requirement while meeting delivery deadlines Perform necessary maintenance and cleaning on equipment Contribute to both department metrics and company-wide metrics Skills/Experience Required Sinker EDM experience required Prefer 2-3 years of experience in EDM machine operation Strong work ethic WEDM experience preferred, but not required Ability to anticipate tasks and effectively follow directions Ability to interact effectively with various departments in the organization Effective communication and conflict resolution skills Ability to multi-task Education Requirements High school diploma or GED Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Full-time Job Function & Industries Management and Manufacturing Plastics Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr Byrne Tool + Design
