Overview

As a design civil/environmental engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., (CEC) for our Houston or Corpus Christi operations, you will be involved in:

• The design, permitting, analyses, preparation of drawings and technical specifications, and construction services for all types of solid waste management facilities and industrial facilities;
• Experience with general civil/environmental engineering projects.
• Experience with geotechnical engineering projects.
• Experience in design of all aspects of landfills and waste operations, is desirable.
• Develop permit application documents, contract drawings, specifications and estimates for landfills, transfer stations, landfill gas to energy facilities, and recycling facilities, as well as storm water conveyances, ponds, and drainages.
• Experience with wastewater a plus.
• Preparation of engineering design reports, feasibility studies, and solid waste management plans.
• Environmental compliance experience a plus.

The candidate filling this position may be located in Houston or Corpus Christi.

Qualifications

• Entry level to 5 years’ experience in the environmental assessment, permitting, document preparation, and construction management; experience working for industry in addition to consulting a plus.
• BS in engineering (e.g., civil, geotechnical, chemical, or environmental); advanced degree a plus.
• EIT or P.E. in Texas preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred, preferably CAD 3D; ArcGIS experience a plus.
• Demonstrated good communication, leadership, skills required.
• Ability to assist in business development, preferred.
• Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process and interface with regulatory agencies.
• Ability to develop and monitor operational compliance strategies to meet federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
• Compensation to be based on candidate's experience.
