Norfolk, VA Department: PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT Position Number: F0084A1 Job Description The Department of Psychology at Old Dominion University seeks an Associate or Full Professor to support our Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology concentration in our Ph.D. program. The area of interest for research and teaching is open. This faculty member will play a critical role in establishing the direction of the I/O Psychology concentration at ODU and assume the primary leadership, mentorship, and management role within the concentration. Some other responsibilities include: Conducting high quality, programmatic research. Pursuing funding to support the faculty member’s research agenda. Teaching undergraduate courses to support the core undergraduate psychology curriculum at ODU. Teaching other graduate courses in the Psychology Department. Position Type FullTime Minimum Qualifications – knowledge, skills, and abilities The successful candidate will have a proven track record of contributing to departmental management/service that is appropriate to rank and career stage. The successful candidate will have previously earned tenure and have a research record sufficient to warrant the award of tenure at ODU (a Carnegie R1 institution). Candidates must demonstrate a strong and successful graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring record, as well as a record of research accomplishments (e.g., impact of peer-reviewed publications and success obtaining extramural funding). Minimum Qualifications – Education or training Candidates must have a Ph.D. with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Preferred Qualifications Evidence of success in academic leadership is highly preferred with a particular emphasis on graduate program leadership, mentoring junior faculty members, and graduate program development.
